War Facts:
The world spent over $1200 billion dollors in military spending in 2007 alone- that’s about $500 billion in the U.S.
Militarism- war is an acceptable means of resolving conflict.

1. Because some people cant come up with their own ideas to solve their solutions to solve their problems. People might also want to start wars for power land or maybe even oil or other such resources
PEOPLE LIKE TO THINK THAT THEY ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS. THEY BECOME POWER HUNGRY AND THEN START TO OVER-RUN OTHER PEOPLE FOR POWER
i think that people go to war because they are raciest of they have had something done to them by a certain person and now they are against everyone of that ethnicity and go to war with them
People think they can do what they want and nothing will happen. Once some starts to get power they dont stop.
i think people war against each other because people want to be the best to be the best they think they need to fight and go to war for it. also they become thirsty for power and want to run everything.
War is there for people who cannot just talk it out. It always has to be action. Not only that, but majority of the time it’s about power. It is about getting what is wanted in the quickest(or bloodiest) way possible.
Before people bash on how much money is being “wasted” on the war or wars in general…Every war was fought to protect their people from the enemy. Just because you want to sit down and talk about how you fell doesn’t mean THE ENEMY wants to. If a person says war is a “waste” you’re saying 9-11 was a waste too.
i think that people go to war to show that they aren’t weak and that if you mess with them then you’ll be sorry. i also think that they go to war because they genuinely want to help people who are in trouble and need their support. i think that war should be the last option in a hard situation.
People cannot solve their own problems neither can our country. We think that we have to go to war to solve our problems and to give fear to other nations.
9-11 was a waste. A waste of loving, caring, breathing people. Who knows how far those people would have gone, who knows how successful those victims could have been. Those people will never come back, and the rest of their life went to waste becuase of the misunderstanding of a group of people. if 9-11 had not happened, those lives wouldn’t have gone to waste.
in war you just lose money and lifes. it’s not wort it. if someone attacks you, “Sep. 11″ then you have no chose but to go to war to defened yourself. if you start war, then your just plan dumb.
War overall is a terrible thing. Many people lose their life and so much money is wasted. It doesn’t really help us or other, all it does is destroy.
911 was a waste. It was a waste of lives. War on the other hand? A waste of time and people. Not just for the Americans but everyone. What is even more wasteful are Holy Wars. Fighting for religion is pointless and somewhat juvenile in a way. It is like saying “Hey you don’t like the same music I do, I will fight you!” If anyone goes to war for the sake of proving religion you deserve what is coming. I have news for you. You do not know what happens when you die. You do not know if your God is watching you right now. You do not know. Unless you personally spoken to your God and have persuasive evidence your religion is right, I suggest all shut it. We do not have the answers and neither do I, so it is best to just stay out of each others religious business and move on.
That is one reason why people could go to war, religion. To be honest I think we screwed up along the line… God did not want us to kill people in his name, if he wanted to he could have done it himself. It is best we just have our beliefs and leave it at that.
The second reason people could go to war is in retaliation to something. A good example is Russia and Georgia. Now as for former President Bush getting in Russia’s affairs, I say he should step off. We would do the exact same thing if say….. Lets say Canada just got up and attacked us (Stupid scenario, sue me) we would fight back too. That I think is justified just as long as we do not completely wipe Canada off the map. And in case no one can read I said this was a dumb scenario so do not respond saying I am a moron because I know Canada would not attack us. Just an example folks, chill out.
I think that people war against eachother because people have their own beliefs. Many people/countries disagree and feel that war is the only option, even though many lives are lost.
In war people like to control minor countries that cannot run themselves. reasons wars are fought are for beliefs in what is right in certain cultures or just in the mind of figures of great power.
1) I think that people go to war against each other to gain more power and land, and sometimes from ancient disputes such as the fight over the “Holy Land” between the Israelis and the Muslims.
1) I think people go to war when there are large masses of people feel the same way about something. if one country is very passionate aout believeing that the US is a bad place and that we bad things to Iraq and then we as a country dont like a certain country because of a mis-understanding or a problem, that can couse two countries to go to war.

I agree with you 100%. Agnosticism is the way to go in more ways then one. Religion first started as a way to explain why the sun goes up and down…. why it rains…. and why there’s earthquakes. Those ideas became gods… Those ideas evolved over time and eventually lead to monotheism, where one god controls everything. Why do we still follow the ideas of the ancient people? we have mentally evolved WAY too far to be driven by religion… and with the world as it is now it’s becoming an annoyance and a burden. BUT!!! the episode of South Park on agnostics. where there were different groups of agnostics and they went to war over who are the true agnostics. I think war is an inescapable evil. regardless of religion.

Countries often rely on war when they feel surrounded by higher authorities of power. They feel the need to over power the weaker powers of the world which causes wars to start. Hence stronger countries must come in and stop the wars which is the way our society works
i think people war against each other in order to gain more power and territory. they feel they need to become the best so they will have no more competition and no worries.
poeple going to war are trying to show others that they arent weak. they want to show that they are not so easy to fight. people want to be better than someone else and because of that they forget that there are better ways to solve problems.
#1 People war against each other because they are having a power struggle. Everyone wants to be on top and have the most power. I do not think that fighting will ever stop because everyone is always going to be competing with someone.
1. I think people use war on each other to scare the other off. They might think that if they go to war, they will conquer and come to aggreements that will scare the other opponent off.
Is the Iraq war meet the Just War specification of avoiding “Greater evils?” So is the United States providing greater violence than the weapons of mass distruction that Iraq was claimed to have?
I think the war in Iraq is not a just war specification of avoiding greater evils. The violence that the US is doing is worse then what the weapons of mass distruction would have done.The wepons they have, have not hurt anyone but the US has.
People start wars against each other because if they think they are right, and everyone else is wrong, and they only respect their own opinion, and not other people’s opinions or ideas, then they start war. If one country doesn’t feel the same as another country its automatically a conflict. Whether or not it starts an actual war depends on how strongly one side feels on the disagreement.
War is just a pointless fight waste of time. Fighting never resolves anything. i agree with Mia i think that war is just to scare the other off. Just announcing war seems like that the once announcing it is more dominate, so the other cant say no because they do not want to look less dominate then the other, so they fight.
